アレクサンドリアの教会における爆発事件を受けてエジプト在留邦人への注意喚起

の類いが在エジプト大使館からは出ていない（年末年始の休みとはいえ、こんな大きなテロが起きたのに。。。。）一方で、在エジプト米国大使館は既にHPに声明載せたり、在留アメリカ人への注意喚起のメールを発出してます。


そんなわけで米国大使館が米人コミュニティ向けに出したメールを入手したので転載しておきます。

警察や軍も敏感になってるのでむやみに写真を撮らないとか、ショッピングセンターや人の多く集まる場所に極力行かず、行っても長居はしないとか、いつも以上に身の回りに御注意ください。

エジプトに住まわれている皆様、それから旅行中あるいは旅行を計画中の方は国務省のHPで（泣）情報収集に努めてください。

（にしても、海外旅行者がウェブ上で自分の旅行情報とかを国務省に登録出来るって、すごいな〜）

Subject: Warden Message No. 1 – Bombing Attack in Alexandria on
January 1, 2011 and its Aftermath

This warden message is being issued to inform U.S. citizens residing
and traveling in Egypt of the bombing attack which occurred in
Alexandria early on the morning of the 1st of January, with 22
reported deaths and dozens of injured from both the Christian and
Muslim communities. The U.S. Embassy is continuing to monitor the
aftermath of this event, including numerous post-attack demonstrations
which have occurred in areas throughout Egypt.

The Egyptian Government has visibly increased security levels
throughout metropolitan areas, around major tourist sites and at
public venues such as churches and shopping centers. The U.S. Embassy
encourages American citizens to remain alert to their surroundings and
to practice good personal security measures. Americans are reminded
that any gathering has the potential for confrontation, and violence
and areas where protestors are gathering should be avoided.
Additionally, crowds or demonstrations will likely cause significant
traffic disruption on adjacent roadways.

Due to the large police presence, the U.S. Embassy also reminds
American citizens of the Egyptian Government prohibition on
photographing police and security activities.

American citizens should stay current with media coverage of local
events and be aware of their surroundings at all times. Americans
traveling abroad should also monitor the U.S. Embassy’s and the
Department of State’s websites, where Worldwide Cautions, Travel
Warnings, Travel Alerts, and Country Specific Information can be
found. The U.S. Embassy also encourages U.S. citizens to review "A
safe trip abroad", which includes valuable security information for
those both living and traveling abroad. In addition to information on
the Internet, travelers may obtain up-to-date information on security
conditions by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll-free in the United States
and Canada, or outside the United States and Canada on a regular toll
line at 1-202-501-4444.

American citizens are advised to maintain valid travel documents and
register with the Department of State or the U.S. Embassy Cairo
through the State Department travel registration website,
https://travelregistration.state.gov. For further information, U.S.
citizens may call the Embassy’s American Citizen Services Unit at
2797-2301 during business hours, Sunday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m.
until 4:30 p.m. For emergencies after business hours and on weekends
and holidays, U.S. citizens can contact the Embassy Duty Officer via
the Embassy switchboard on 2797-3300. The Embassy is located at 5
Tawfik Diab Street (formerly known as Latin America Street), Garden
City, Cairo.
